Who doesn't love that iconic scene from the 1902 silent film Le Voyage dans la Lune ("A Trip to the Moon")? Early cinematic pioneer Georges Méliès created images of such visual power and joyful expressiveness that he was instantly copied, pirated, imitated and otherwise paid the ultimate complement. And here we are a century later, still paying tribute to the man's ingenious productions.
The hanging wall sculpture depicts the famous scene in which adventurous earthlings launch themselves to the moon from a cannon. It's a sculpture made to last, indoors or out. I make it of designer cast stone, which I've found to be perfect for depicting the surface of the moon.
SIZE: 9 inches high, 8.5 inches wide, and 3 inches deep at the thickest point. It weighs about 4 pounds. I can make it lighter at your request, and will do so for international orders to facilitate shipping.
